About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as the Coordinator for Events, Workshops, and Education at the Desert Dolphin Skatepark in Khempur, Rajasthan. As the Educational Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing educational programs and initiatives within the skate park community. You will work closely with the skate park team and skateboarders and community stakeholders to facilitate creating engaging learning opportunities that complement the overall skate park experiences.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for working with children and youth, as well as a strong background in event planning, workshop coordination, and education. They should be creative, resourceful, and adaptable, with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Experience working in a multicultural or international context, as well as fluency in both English and Hindi, would be highly desirable. Job Requirements
Key responsibilities include:
Event Planning and Execution: Develop and implement a calendar of events and activities that cater to the interests and needs of children and youth. This includes organizing special events, competitions, cultural festivals, camps, and community gatherings.
Workshop Coordination: Collaborate with artisans, educators, and professionals to design and deliver engaging workshops on topics such as art, music, dance, technology, and environmental sustainability. Ensure that workshops are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with the mission and values of the foundation.
Education Initiatives: Develop educational programs and initiatives that promote learning, personal development, and life skills among participants. This may include literacy programs, vocational training, leadership development workshops, and mentoring programs.
Outreach and Partnerships: Identify and forge partnerships with schools, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to expand the reach and impact of the foundation's programs. Develop marketing materials, presentations, and outreach strategies to promote awareness and participation in events and workshops.
Budget Management: Work with the Project Managers to develop and manage budgets for events, workshops, and educational programs. Monitor expenses, track revenue, and ensure that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively.
Evaluation and Reporting: Collect data, feedback, and testimonials to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of events, workshops, and education initiatives. Prepare regular reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other members of the Desert Dolphin Skatepark team, including resident coaches, support staff, volunteers, and youth leaders. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to contribute their ideas and talents.
Program Development: Collaborate with the Directors and Projects Manager to develop long-term strategic plans for events, workshops, and education initiatives. Identify emerging trends, best practices, and opportunities for innovation in youth engagement and community development.
Cultural Competency: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness in all aspects of program planning and implementation. Respect and celebrate the diverse backgrounds, traditions, and identities of participants and community members.
Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with event coordination, workshop facilitation, and educational activities. Provide guidance, support, and feedback to volunteers to ensure a positive and rewarding experience for all involved.
Safety and Risk Management: Implement safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being and security of participants during events, workshops, and educational programs. Conduct risk assessments, obtain necessary permits, and adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines.
Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local residents, businesses, and organizations to promote collaboration and mutual support. Organize community meetings, focus groups, and feedback sessions to gather input and build consensus around program priorities and initiatives.
Sustainability Initiatives: Integrate principles of sustainability and environmental stewardship into events, workshops, and educational activities. Encourage recycling, energy conservation, and eco-friendly practices, and explore opportunities for partnerships with environmental organizations and initiatives.
Sustainable Agricultural Practices: Promote sustainable farming practices that prioritize environmental conservation, biodiversity, and natural resource management. Encourage the use of organic farming methods, composting, and crop rotation to minimize the use of chemical inputs and enhance soil health.
